三位一体節後第１１日曜日用カンタータ集。なぜこの祝日が選ばれたのかが謎なのだが，何か理由があったのだろうか？
どれも魅力的な曲ばかりだが，179番冒頭合唱のフーガは素敵だ。この曲は小ミサ曲に転用されているし，バッハ自身も気に入っていたに違いないと思う。
