ブラームス・交響曲２番，ベートーヴェン・交響曲２番／ビーチャム／ロイヤルフィル／（BBC LEGENDS BBCL 4099-2）
ブラームスは異様な熱気のライブ録音。いたるところにビーチャムのかけ声が入る。かけ声がかかるとオケのテンションが上がって面白い。
終楽章のコーダはこの典型で，音楽がどんどん熱気を帯び，最後は大興奮のうちに最終音にたどり着く。長い引き延ばしが鳴り終わらないうちに熱狂的な拍手が入り，全曲が閉じられる。これが聴きたいがためにこの録音を聴くようなものだ。
今回は２楽章を聴いて，やっぱりブラームスはうだつが上がらないなぁと思った。私の感覚では「ブラームス＝うだつが上がらない」であり，自分がうだつが上がらなくてしょーもないときに聴くのだ。で，今回は２楽章で自分の感覚に非常にぴったりしたわけだ。
まぁ，４番のうだつのあがらなさと，自分への腹立ちみたいなのが一番わかりやすいと思うが。
ベートーヴェンはスタジオ録音だが，なかなかいい演奏だと思う。ライブだったらもっと白熱したのかも？
